imageFashion X Houston

Last Friday; I was given the opportunity to attend/cover the first Fashion X Houston presented by Cadillac. The event took place at the spacious Silver Street Studios. The show featured designers from the TV series Project Runway and some of Houston’s very own local designers. Fashion X Houston showcased all types of styles such as luxury, wedding and regular every day attire. From different color cloths, linens and fabrics such as velvets, minks, shinny silks, pure whites, bright reds, passion purple bold black and vibrant blue. They even had an open bar with vodka, rum, whiskey and Chloe wine “my favorite by the way.” All throughout the night they served light bites, for instance mini beef, chicken and turkey sandwiches. Fashion X Houston also had different local venders as well from clothing to accessories for both men & women. Cadillac even provided a slow motion cam video shoot; along with showcasing a few luxury vehicles. This was perfect because it provided the audience with things to do either before, after and during the intermissions of the show. It was a great privilege and honor to attend/Cover the show. Overall, I had a great experience and look forward to next year’s show. Also before I forget, thank-you Matt and Rachel for allowing me to attend/cover the show. There are pictures down below for your viewing pleasure and if you like comment and subscribe.

2522 Westgate Street in Sought After Glendowe Court

Last Wednesday, I had the luxury of attending the unveiling of a new $3,950,000 home in the westheimer area. Thanks to Mirador Group and Sudhoff Companies Showcase. While there, we toured the house and lounged around as if it was our own. It was a marvelous two story with five bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms. With its huge kitchen, all white walls, walk in closets, unique fireplaces, library and great pieces of artwork. This house gives off a very MTV cribs vibe it even featured a spa like bathroom and one department store closet. Mr.Peter of Modern Luxury Magazine Houston said “It evokes modern elements in a traditionally neoclassical form…featuring unique bathroom fixtures striking brass details, a heated and cooled pool, outdoor kitchen, ebony stained cabinets and appliances.” While walking throughout the home we heard live performances from the Virtuosi of Houston. “At one point they played sounds from Star Wars lol.” They treated us to cocktails and light bites such as beef empanadas, crab stuffed mushrooms, chicken bell peppers skewers, and caramelized onion jam on bread. All the food was catered by David Alcorta. It was a very pleasant evening. I have some photos down below; if you would like to view them. Hopefully I didn’t give any spoilers; I tried to leave out as much detail as I could to give you a similar experience.

 Houston Lamborghini Festival 2016

This Past Sunday I had the luxury of attending Houston’s Lamborghini Festival located in City Centre. It is referred to as one of the largest Lamborghini events of the year; with over seventy different makes and models. From the classic Miurana, smooth Veneni, the Innovative Huracan, futuristic Aventador, and the popular Murcèlago. The Aventador Lamborghini reaches average speeds of 200+mph. This beast comes with a v12 engine “yes V8s you don’t stand a chance Lol”. These cars are truly  made for speed with there aerodynamic design and carbon frames to go 0-100 in 3.2 secs. These sport cars come with a hefty price tag of $200,000, for this price you will be guaranteed to turn heads every time you hit the road. The festival wasn’t limited to Lamborghini’s, they also had Ferrari’s, Porsche, Bugatti’s, Mercedes-Benz, Maserati’s, Audi’s and GT-R’s. This was a Car lover’s dream. Full of spectators snapping pictures for themselves or for social media. There were constant ooh’s and aah’s from seeing exotic colorways, big rims or hearing there engines roar. “Personally, the matte grey was my favorite.” The location of Houstons’ City Centre was an excellent choice. It’s scenery gives off an upper urban feel with its European opened style shops, bars and restaurants. They even had a live band playing in the middle of the plaza. I personally cannot wait for the Lamborghini’s Festival next year and look forward to the Ferrari Festival in a few weeks. There are some pictures from the event down below; Check them out if you like. Also leave a comment for any questions and if you want to subscribe.

Modern Luxury HOUSTON

Men Of StyleModern Luxury Houston

Men Of Style Launch

Tuesday Night the Houston launched their Men of Style edition of their Modern Luxury Magazine. Hotel Zaza provided the venue in its Monarch Terrace; with its low lighting ambience on its upper deck and sunny skies on its lower outside. The melodic tones of jazz filled our ears not to loud. But just enough to catch the rhythm while being able to communicate with others. They treated us to cocktails wine and hors d’oeuvres “the coconut breaded shrimp were my favorite”. Also the Magazine teamed up with Mercedes-Benz of Houston Greenway to showcase there new AMG GT 2017 sport. With its sleek design and smooth interior pushing 481 horsepower this vehicle is the perfect combination of style and speed. Mr Edwardo of Mercedes-Benz  informs me it goes 0-60 in 3.9 seconds with two twin turbos. This edition of Modern Luxury Houston features twelve pages of the famed designer Norton Ditto clothing as we now transition from summer to fall and winter. Having briefly spoken to the publisher he informed me that fall is his favorite time of year he said “time to put away light clothes and linens, but now is time to enjoy the cool weather. Wearing wool, corduroys and heavier shoes.” I myself love the cool weather as well;it’s time to break out the fall colors and change out your wardrobe from summer and spring. This men of style magazine launch gives you the edge to know what’s in style for the months to come. Check out some of the photos of the event.I will post videos in the next day or two after editing. Make sure you grab your copy of the Houston and comment/subscribe if you like.

Birth of a Nation Screening

Birth of A Nation

This movie has a well-paced build up not only does it informs you on Nat Turners background it explains the upcoming awakening the USA will have. Thus giving the name Birth of A Nation. This film could not have come at a better time. A 10 is an understatement not only do you learn the history you feel the pain surrounding the time period The cast was amazing and the Directors use of still images and expanding wide shots are absolutely beautiful. Song choice and timing was very on point. Not only is it relatable to all it is very enlightening to see how one man can inspire many and spark a movement years to come. It also shows what happens when we gain clear concousness of right and wrong. Birth of a Nation shows you how ignorant the world once was; while also showing you that there is still good in it. It relates in today’s time by showing that people still pick and choose what they see when it comes to race. It shows how we may feel it’s wrong but by us not speaking or acting on it can make matters worse or never end a cycle. At the end of the film you feel happy not enraged at anyone, since it balances all of your emotions. Not to be violent but to be proud that this man attempted what many would never do in his time. How he died with his dignity for what he believes in order to bring freedom to his people even if it was short lived he died a free man and not a slave.
