RollingStone

In Conclusion to my Super bowl Super Week, I was given the honor to attend/cover the RollingStone magazine 50th Anniversary Red Carpet and Party. RollingStone went all out for this party, for it was held at the massive Houston Museum of Fine Arts.  This truly was a star studded event filled with comedians, Dj’s, recording artists, models, athletes, actors, actresses and reality stars. While walking up to the press/media check-in; I immediately noticed recording artist Big Sean was walking up getting ready to hit the red carpet.  I was very excited; the last time I seen Big Sean was when he came to my college in 2011. During the red carpet I was able to take pictures and speak with dj’s Cassidy and Diplo, rappers/singers Nas, Big Sean, Busta Rhymes and Harry Connick Jr., comedians/actors Anthony Anderson, J.B. Smooth and Adrian Grenier, Actress Alyssa Milano and Kendra Wilkinson, Model Chanel Iman, reality stars Nene Leaks and Cynthia Bailey, and lastly athletes Victor Cruz, Odell Beckham Jr., Warren Sapp, Travis Kelce, Danielle Moinet, Caroline Wozniacki and many more.  After the Red Carpet I went inside to enjoy the party. Once entering the party I greeted by Budweiser brand ambassadors giving out free drinks, shirts, jackets and bags. Next I went inside to the party area. I soon realized that Nas was not only just there to make an appearance he started to perform some of his greatest hits. I was so excited because I listen to Nas all the time and have never been to a concert. Not only did Nas perform but so did Big Sean, Dj Diplo and Busta Rhymes. The Crowd went crazy when Busta Rhymes performed his verse from the hit song Look at Me Now.  During the intermissions of the performances I would go and explore the museum. The Museum had three floors showcasing some of the magnificent pieces of like the Art of India. There was even a lounge, open bar area on the third floor where you could eat delicious bagel bites from Einstein Bros Bagels, while overlooking the balcony to see into the party area. This was an awesome memory that I will cherish forever. Thanks again RollingStone for allowing me to cover/ attend the event. Leather & Laces

In Continuation to my Super bowl Super Week, I was given the opportunity to cover the 14th Annual “Leather & Laces” Red Carpet and Party. The party took place at the lavish Hughes Manor.  This was a spectacular event Hosted by actress/model Jenny McCarthy, actor & film producer Donnie Wahlberg, actress and Sports Illustrated model Emily Ratajkowski and Victoria Secret Angel Sara Sampaio. This was my first time working a red carpet and I have to say it was an amazing experience. The main thing I kept telling myself was keep your cool stay professional. Do not get star struck but stick to your script ask the celebrities questions about Houston or Superbowl and get a picture. While on the red carpet I was standing next to ABC13 and Fox26 seeing and hearing how they interact with celebrities really helped me out a lot. During the red carpet I saw Boxer Joey Ortiz, actor Henry Penzi, Cast of Cirque Du Soleil, Sports Illustrated Hannah Ferguson, Robozao the Robot, NASCAR driver Kyle Busch, Marcus Spears, Baywatch star Krista Frazier. After talking to and taking pictures of some of the celebrities; I decided to go inside to the concert area. There were Cirque Du Soleil members hanging from the ceilings in hula hoops doing crazy acrobatics. The Dj had the place jumping with techno along with a laser show. It was starting to feel like I was in a trance. Next I went to the lounge to grab a drink everything was open bar. One of my favorite drinks of the night was the frozen pink lemonade with Grey Goose floating in Bodega Domaine Bousequet champagne from Frost 321. Towards the end of the night I stopped by the snack bar; they had different flavored macaroons, cake pops, cupcakes, truffles, and strawberry cake cups filled with chocolate pudding and fresh strawberries. Also at Leather and Laces were First Class Staffing Services, the classy choice for attendant services. This was a great experience and I look forward to the 15th annual Leather & Laces Red Carpet and Party. Thanks again to Mr. Almond for the media/press badges. Front Row Houston

Last Wednesday, I had the privilege of covering the 1st annual Front Row Houston: Fashion Show Presented by CHKMTE. Front Row Houston gave young fashion luminaries the resources and audience to bring their brand exposure to a more global market. It allowed the designers to showcase the hottest trends coming in 2017. The fashion show even gave a portion of its earnings to Mothers to Mothers Organization. Mothers to Mothers Organization is a nonprofit dedicated to preventing mother-to-child transmission of HIV by providing education and support to pregnant women and mothers living with HIV.  The fashion show was held at The Gallery, a two-story palatial like venue with an all brick structure.  Upon entering the venue I heard the sounds of Dj Shante of 93.7 on the ones and twos. “She kept us grooving all night”.  Next I saw Mr. Irvin Randle aka insta-famous #MrStillYourGrandma preparing for the show. After socializing for a few minutes, I went upstairs to see the rest of the venue. While upstairs I was served champagne and light bites provided by Café Natalie. The light bites consisted of shrimp spring rolls, mini beef sliders and my personal favorite the chicken Diablo Empanada. Next I made my way back downstairs as the show was getting ready to start. The designers for the show were Chasity Sereal, Travis Cal, AMATI, Richard and Grace, Preston Douglas, Charles Johnson “War Official”, and Dieuest. They featured styles from street wear, women’s wear/couture, Alice and Wonderland inspired and bridal wear. They created unique garments made of many different cloths, linens and fabrics such as silk, leather, cotton, mink and sequence. This was a very successful night the house was packed with constant owes and ah’s as we starred in admiration. I’m glad Front Row Houston was the second stop of my Super week.  I have links to some of the designer sites down below. VIP Reception

Last Tuesday, I Kicked off Super Week by covering a VIP Reception to Salute Hispanics in Sports & Entertainment; hosted by INCA KOLA, FOX DEPORTES, UNITED and Coca-Cola. The reception provided recognition to Hispanics in the sports world for their outstanding accomplishments on and off the field. This Salute enhances the positive image of Hispanics by highlighting the work being done in the communities from these professionals. Among these professionals was Activist Mr. Tony Diaz, the Chairman of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Sr. Salazar, Radio Personality Carmen Contreras, one of the C.E.Os., of Continental Food and Beverage Inc., Sports Announcers from Fox Deportes and Athletes. Throughout the night awards were given to some of the top performers in the Latino community.  The reception took place at southwestern Tejas Grill & Sports Bar in downtown Houston. For appetizers we were given southwestern eggrolls and Tejas Scorpions “jumbo bacon wrapped shrimp stuffed with Monterey jack cheese and jalapeño”. The entrée consisted of chicken and steak fajitas, rice and beans; along with sweet lemon bars, brownie bark and pecan pie for desert. INCA KOLA provided us with signature cocktails like the Gold Rush, Gold Russian, and my favorite the Golden Nut “Malibu coconut rum with INCA KOLA.” After the dinner we were able to mingle and party to mixes of Dj Tariq. Overall it was a great experience and I look forward to covering the convention in the months to come. Bliss Expo

On January 17th, I had the pleasure of covering Love Wins Texas Weddings – Bliss Expo.  Love Wins Texas Weddings is one of the publications under SagaCity Media along with Houstonia Magazine. The Bliss Expo was very exquisite, for it embraced the importance of marriage equality. The expo took place at the industrial chic Astorian.  During the expo a live musical ensemble played as we mingled with vendors.  Among the vendors were David Alcorta Catering with his delicious desserts. He served chocolate mocha cake pops, Italian cream cupcakes with coconut, pecans and cream cheese frosting and my favorite sugar pecan cookies with dulce de leche filling. Mezlan was also here showcasing their handcrafted and very suave loafers. Oda Creative with their luxury bespoke invitations. Also at the expo was First Class Staffing Services, the classy choice for attendant services. Throughout the night we were given creative cocktails like “Something Blue”  a Texas Whiskey with fresh blueberries and “First Kiss” a lip tingling Dulce Vida tequila margarita all curated by Magnolia Bay Custom Bar Services  and light bites by A Fare Extraordinaire. Next up was the bridal fashion show featuring pieces from Bravo Suits & Tux, The Ivy League, Mezlan, Miles David and Unbridaled. The sequin shimmered dresses and suit jackets were my favorite. Lastly, everyone participated in a charity raffle with the proceeds going to Legacy Community Health. Overall, it was a great experience and I look forward to more events this month’s issue of Love Wins Texas Weddings. There are pictures down below and be sure to comment and subscribe if you like.
