Houston Auto Show

This month I was given the opportunity to cover and help promote the 2017 Houston Auto Show. The Houston Auto Show offered the latest vehicles from the world’s top automakers. For more than 30 years, the Houston Auto Show has brought the automotive world to Texas, allowing consumers to see, touch, and now ride and drive experiences the industry’s latest and greatest offerings. The Houston Auto Show has grown by adding themed days honoring Texas’ military and families. During the show I saw sportscars like the Mclaren, Audi R8 Spyder, the 007 Ashton Martin series, and Lotus. There were luxury vehicles such as the Alfa Romeo, Cadillac CTS-Mercedes Benz, Lexus and Jaguar.  Lastly there were classics like the 1979 Pontiac Trans Am, 1965 Shelby Cobra and woodies. They even had a two story media lounge for us covering the event. At the media lounge we were treated to snacks and an open bar. On the 2nd floor of the media lounge we could oversee the whole Auto Show. This was a marvelous experience. Thanks to RoShelle Salinas for giving me this great opportunity. I have provided pictures down below along with a link to the Houston Auto Show. Thanks for reading and be sure to comment, subscribe and share if you like.

Menu of Menus

Last week, I was able to attend the 15th annual Houston Press Menu of Menus Extravaganza. The extravaganza was held at the massive silver street station. Houston Press has built a platform that offers unlimited food samples from over 40 of Houston’s top restaurants along with wine, beer and cocktail pairings.  Menu of Menus truly shows how diverse Houston’s food scene is. There was Italian, Mexican, Japanese,Greek South African, Cajun Brazilian and American foods.  They even had an Iron fork competition putting two of Houston’s top chefs against each other in a cook-off. Some of the restaurants at Menu of Menus were Prestige Oyster’s Inc., Niko Nikos, Krisp Bird and Batter, Hughie’s Tarvan & Vietnamese, Fajita Pete’s, Casian King, Shipleys , Season 52. Some of my favorite restaurants were Los Cucos Mexican Café with their chicken and beef quesadilla, Krisp Bird and Batter serving chicken and biscuits drenched in spicy ranch sauce, Trahan’s Wings and Daiquiris with their spicy Hurricane Katrina wings, Peli Peli serving their South African oxtails, and Italiano’s Restaurant with their wine and pasta. The best drink in my opinion came from Blue Chair Bay; their new vanilla and key lime pie flavored rum taste amazing. For dessert I loved delicious cold treats from SweetRide! They are the only alcoholic and non-alcoholic gourmet Ice Cream, Sorbet, Italian Ice and Sno-Cone truck in Houston. Overall this was a foodie’s playground and I look forward to next year. Thanks again Mrs. Sexton for the tickets it was truly a great experience. I have provided pictures down below along with a link to Menu of Menus and the restaurants. IVY LOFTS

Toward the end of March; I had the pleasure of attending a showcasing for the new Ivy Lofts. The Ivy Lofts is an upscale simplified urban living space purposefully designed for an energized lifestyle. The Ivy Lofts will be located in east downtown Houston.  They will offer different floor plans consisting of Murphy beds, stainless steel appliances, granite counter-tops, a two in one washer and dryer, hidden closets, a wine fridge, Jack and Jill bathrooms, half and full wrap around balconies with killer views of the city. My favorite floor plans were the 384 square footage Tokyo style; with a living room/bedroom, the 576 sq. ft. Barcelona with a bedroom, living room, a small office/bedroom, and the 966 sq. ft. New Yorker featuring a living room, two bedrooms an office and two bathrooms.  While walking around touring the different layouts we were giving sandwiches from Corner Bakery Café, grapes, strawberries and cheese. There was even an open wine bar to pair the food with. I personally cannot wait for the new Ivy Lofts are finished they will make a great addition to the downtown skyline. Thanks Ivy Lofts and Marco Brudi cannot wait to come back for the opening. I have provided pictures down below along with links to the Ivy Lofts and Corner Bakery Café.
