Derby Day

At the beginning of the month, I was given the pleasure to attend/cover the 143rd Kentucky Derby most exclusive Derby Party in Houston.  Thanks to Hughes Manor and Modern Luxury Houston Magazine. This was a marvelous event and Hughes Manor provided the perfect location with their indoor/outdoor venue. They had TVs all around and an outdoor projector screen, a live Horse in winner’s circle attire to take pictures with, live paintings, and lawn games like corn-hole tossing. Not only was there a Dj during the event but also a live performance from the Bluegrass Band. With everyone dressed in derby attire there was a Bowtie contest for the men and a Hat contest for the women.  Throughout the night we were provided delicious gourmet bites from Custom Culinary like tangy barbecue meatballs, lemon grilled chicken skewers, sweet chocolate brownies and truffle cheesecake. For drinks we were treated to an open bar. I had the classic signature derby cocktail “Mint Julep”, along with sweet wines and champagne. There was a Luxury Raffle with great prizes and Faux Betting with all proceeds going to the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show. Lastly was the big race; soon as the gates open and the Horses took off the place went into total chaos. There were people clinching their teeth, biting their nails, seating on the edge of their seats, standing, jumping up and down all shouting and cheering for their favorite Horse and Jockey. I truly see why it’s called the most exciting two minutes in sports. Overall this was an awesome experience. Thanks to Abbey, Jillian and Jess for giving me this great opportunity. I have provided pictures down below along with a link to Hughes Manor and Modern Luxury Houston Magazine. Thanks for reading and be sure to comment, subscribe and share if you like.

Garden Soiree

In continuation to this year’s Wedding Season; I had the pleasure of attending Hughes Manor annual Garden Soiree Bridal Event.  Hughes Manor is a timeless industrial yet modern indoor/outdoor weddings and events venue. During the Garden Soiree there was a meet and greet with the vendors and a fashion show. A couple of my favorite vendors at the event were Laced Vinyl Shoppe and Half Moon Lettering. Laced Vinyl Shoppe makes custom dance floor wraps, monograms, decals and banners. While Half Moon Lettering creates beautiful invitations and lettering by incorporating calligraphy and chalkboards. After the meet and greet we went inside to see the transformation of Hughes Manor. It was a true bridal delight with all the décor and the arrangement of the tables, chairs, stage, lighting, and dance floor. They even had hors d’oeuvre consisting of plantains, chicken and waffles. As well as tres leches cake for dessert provided by Churrascos . There was even an open bar thanks to Excel Pours bar and catering. Next, Now & Forever Bridal Boutique treated us to a fashion show with some of the hottest wedding trends in this season. The Show featured pure whites, unique patterns and shiny sequence fabrics. Lastly we ended the night by partying to a live performance from Rapture Houston. This was an awesome experience and I cannot wait to visit Hughes Manor again.  I have provided pictures down below along with links to my favorite vendors. Thanks for reading comment, subscribe, and share if you like.

Bridal Showcase

Spring time is here and the wedding season is among us. I was able to kick off this wedding season by attending J’Adore Events 1st Bridal Showcase.  J’Adore Events is a Houston based event planning company. Their event designers and coordinators take care of everything so you can relax and enjoy your special celebration. They provide you and your guests with a beautiful, memorable moment that is professionally managed with a personal touch. The event was held at Station 3, an industrial chic venue space located in the Houston art district. Once inside, I was greeted with a luxurious gift bag with all types of wedding swag inside. During the event we were able to mix and mingle with different wedding vendors. Some of my favorites were Atelier du Papie a paper studio that makes impressions to last longer than your event.   Brickhouse Bridal with their posh salon for designer wedding dresses, accessories and bridal-party apparel. Keisha’s Kreations was there offering fresh floral designs, decor and rentals in a seamless production from beginning to end. The last vendor was House of Hough they provide event decor such as tablecloths, chair covers, overlays and more. After speaking with a few vendors I went upstairs to enjoy the party.  The Dj for the party was my friend Lewis Grell he kept the party jumping all night.  They even had a thirty second slow motion booth.  Throughout the night we were given champagne, and a cranberry, pineapple and sprite spritzer.  For food we were given catering by Churrascos Steak & Seafood. They served seared beef empanadas with caramelized onions, cumin, malbec-soaked raisins and pimento olives and roasted chicken empanadas made of basil and candied pecans. There was Ceviche Copacabana with Costa Rican rainforest tilapia, gulf shrimp with jalapeno, red onion and cilantro. Fresh fruits like strawberries and plantains. For dessert they provided us with tres leches cake soaked in sweet vanilla laced cream and topped with a decadent meringue italiano. Overall this was a great experience and an awesome way to kick off this wedding season. I have provided pictures down below along with links to my favorite vendors. The CINEBALL

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of attending/cover the Fresharts.org 2017 the CINEBALL. This was an awesome experience that got me super pumped for this year’s Oscars. Fresh ARTS is committed to the growth of a thriving, innovative and diverse arts sector in Houston. They enhance Houston’s arts community by connecting local artists, art organizations and patrons together. The event was held at the open maze-like Silos on Sawyers. Silos was an excellent choice; there were art paintings on everywhere. Once inside I noticed everyone was either dressed up or in a costume as their favorite movie character. There were people dressed up as Miley, Beetlejuice, James Bond, Poison Ivy, Old Hollywood, Cruella De Ville, King of Zamunda and many more.  Also the Sounds by A fistful of Soul had the place jumping; being out on the dance floor and being surrounded by people dressed up as celebrities really felt like dancing with the stars. Even the servers were in costume; their bodies were covered in gold paint to resemble the look of an Oscar trophy. The servers were passing out hors d’oeuvres from El Patio and Beaver’s. The spicy buffalo chicken nacho was my favorite. For drinks there was wine, champagne, specialty drinks by Dripping Springs Vodka and Gin and strong spiked slushies by Bacardi. There was even a snack bar just like the Oscars provided by Candylicious. After dancing and eating I decided to go explore the venue to see what else I could find. I ended up meeting two gentlemen one named Jonathon Palmer an aspiring actor at Next Iteration Theater Company. He will be in the upcoming play “Turquoise” starting March 17th through April 1st 2017. The other gentleman was John Whaley Jr. a Visual Artist. While speaking with him, I was able witness him finish a magnificent painting of Marilyn Monroe. Next, I ended up finding beautiful live body art paintings by RCC Creations. Throughout the Night there was a silent auction to help support rising artist and bring awareness to the art community. Not only could you place your bid on paper, but you could also conveniently text your bid. Overall this was an amazing event and I am glad to have experienced it. I have provided pictures down below along with links to everyone mentioned be sure to check them out. Also please don’t forget to comment and subscribe.

RollingStone

In Conclusion to my Super bowl Super Week, I was given the honor to attend/cover the RollingStone magazine 50th Anniversary Red Carpet and Party. RollingStone went all out for this party, for it was held at the massive Houston Museum of Fine Arts.  This truly was a star studded event filled with comedians, Dj’s, recording artists, models, athletes, actors, actresses and reality stars. While walking up to the press/media check-in; I immediately noticed recording artist Big Sean was walking up getting ready to hit the red carpet.  I was very excited; the last time I seen Big Sean was when he came to my college in 2011. During the red carpet I was able to take pictures and speak with dj’s Cassidy and Diplo, rappers/singers Nas, Big Sean, Busta Rhymes and Harry Connick Jr., comedians/actors Anthony Anderson, J.B. Smooth and Adrian Grenier, Actress Alyssa Milano and Kendra Wilkinson, Model Chanel Iman, reality stars Nene Leaks and Cynthia Bailey, and lastly athletes Victor Cruz, Odell Beckham Jr., Warren Sapp, Travis Kelce, Danielle Moinet, Caroline Wozniacki and many more.  After the Red Carpet I went inside to enjoy the party. Once entering the party I greeted by Budweiser brand ambassadors giving out free drinks, shirts, jackets and bags. Next I went inside to the party area. I soon realized that Nas was not only just there to make an appearance he started to perform some of his greatest hits. I was so excited because I listen to Nas all the time and have never been to a concert. Not only did Nas perform but so did Big Sean, Dj Diplo and Busta Rhymes. The Crowd went crazy when Busta Rhymes performed his verse from the hit song Look at Me Now.  During the intermissions of the performances I would go and explore the museum. The Museum had three floors showcasing some of the magnificent pieces of like the Art of India. There was even a lounge, open bar area on the third floor where you could eat delicious bagel bites from Einstein Bros Bagels, while overlooking the balcony to see into the party area. This was an awesome memory that I will cherish forever. Thanks again RollingStone for allowing me to cover/ attend the event. Leather & Laces

In Continuation to my Super bowl Super Week, I was given the opportunity to cover the 14th Annual “Leather & Laces” Red Carpet and Party. The party took place at the lavish Hughes Manor.  This was a spectacular event Hosted by actress/model Jenny McCarthy, actor & film producer Donnie Wahlberg, actress and Sports Illustrated model Emily Ratajkowski and Victoria Secret Angel Sara Sampaio. This was my first time working a red carpet and I have to say it was an amazing experience. The main thing I kept telling myself was keep your cool stay professional. Do not get star struck but stick to your script ask the celebrities questions about Houston or Superbowl and get a picture. While on the red carpet I was standing next to ABC13 and Fox26 seeing and hearing how they interact with celebrities really helped me out a lot. During the red carpet I saw Boxer Joey Ortiz, actor Henry Penzi, Cast of Cirque Du Soleil, Sports Illustrated Hannah Ferguson, Robozao the Robot, NASCAR driver Kyle Busch, Marcus Spears, Baywatch star Krista Frazier. After talking to and taking pictures of some of the celebrities; I decided to go inside to the concert area. There were Cirque Du Soleil members hanging from the ceilings in hula hoops doing crazy acrobatics. The Dj had the place jumping with techno along with a laser show. It was starting to feel like I was in a trance. Next I went to the lounge to grab a drink everything was open bar. One of my favorite drinks of the night was the frozen pink lemonade with Grey Goose floating in Bodega Domaine Bousequet champagne from Frost 321. Towards the end of the night I stopped by the snack bar; they had different flavored macaroons, cake pops, cupcakes, truffles, and strawberry cake cups filled with chocolate pudding and fresh strawberries. Also at Leather and Laces were First Class Staffing Services, the classy choice for attendant services. This was a great experience and I look forward to the 15th annual Leather & Laces Red Carpet and Party. Thanks again to Mr. Almond for the media/press badges. I have provided pictures down below and feel free to comment and subscribe if you like.
